Third Eye Foundation

Biography

Founded in the mid-nineties, The Third Eye Foundation was the work of Bristolian Matt Elliot, who was previously a member of Flying Saucer Attack, Amp, and Movietone.

Making his debut in 1996 with the awesome 'Semtex' album on his own Linda's Strange Vacation label, the group (earlier assisted by Debbie Manning who went on to release material on FatCat as Foehn) had singles released on Planet and Obsessive Eye, then signed to Domino, where he released a stream of albums and singles. Matt has provided remixes for Bowery Electric, Blonde Redhead, Ganger, Mogwai, Thurston Moore, Tarwater and The Pastels, and has done production work for Hood, Gauge, and Suncoil Sect. In 2003 he began releasing on Domino under his own name.

Released in early '98, their split 12" (the first in the series) is a 12 minute remix of an original track by Bristol group KS Kollective.
