Req
Biography
Totally immersed in hiphop culture, Brighton-based Req is easily the most experimental and progressive artist on Norman Cook's Skint label. After two awesome albums on Skint, Req was invited to contribute to the split series and provided two great tracks which were released in 1999. A highly talented graffiti artist, Req's shifting, low-key music is characterised by its hazy, lo-fi world of sluggish, murky beats, grainy scratches and warped sounds, conjuring a deeply atmospheric sound-space. He has continued to release on Skint, and in early 2002 released the first of a number of albums on Warp.
