New Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch piece to be premiered at BBC Proms

130701's Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch has been commissioned by the London Contemporary Orchestra to write a new piece for a string ensemble, which will be premiered at the Tate Modern on 6th September, as part of the BBC Proms and will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3

130701's Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch has been commissioned by the London Contemporary Orchestra to write a piece for a string ensemble. Described as being "approximately 8 minutes long, written for an ensemble consisting of 1 violin, 2 violas, 3 cellos, 1 double bass and live electronics", it will be premiered in the Tanks at the Tate Modern on 6th September, as part of the BBC Proms and will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3.

The programme also includes a collaboration between the LCO and London-based electronic artist Actress; new work by Catherine Lamb; Cassandra Miller's evocative, folk-inspired Guide performed by vocal ensemble Exaudi; and Rodrigo Constanzo's dynamic performances with light and sound.

New Demo - YODOK III

We have just posted a brand new demo by YODOK III to the FatCat demo site.

Hailing from Norway this experimental three piece produce their music from long extended jam sessions that touch on many different genres of music.

This track entitled 'In a realm of wander behold the fleeting shadows exclaim in delight' is an 18 minute long piece that slowly builds into a powerful wave of beautiful tones and textures, definitely a piece that deserves a proper listen.

Electronic Explorations host Ian William Craig mixtape

Fans of Vancouver-based singer / composer Ian William Craig can check out a gorgeous mixtape from Ian on Electronic Explorations, the site run by Houndstooth Records' Rob Booth. The 1hr 20 mins mix, entitled 'Overflow' is described by Ian as being "a ruminative tape of musically sublime abrasion from out past the boundary." It features the likes of A Broken Consort, Pete Swanson, Phillip Schultze, Okkyung Lee, Kingdom Shore, Marsen Jules, Sarah Neufeld, Keith Fullerton Whitman, and Dirty Beaches.

We have just posted the latest demo online by FREEZ. Entitled 'Bad Weed'. CLICK HERE TO LISTEN. It's a track which takes influence from the sunny lofi sound of the Californian scene and artists such as Ty Segal, WAVVES and Fidlar.

FREEZ are based in Italy. Surfy, scuzzy and washed out - FREEZ exude a care-free but heartfelt sound that makes you want to head straight for the sun.
